Stand Up For Your Beliefs
I am 6 1⁄2 years old and in the first grade in Germany. Every class elects a class president at the beginning of the year, I was elected. About 6 months into the school year I decided that doing homework was stupid and a waste of time. So I stopped.
My teacher, Frau Frankel, who could have already been my mom’s teacher, is mad and commands me to have the homework from yesterday and from today, tomorrow.
I of course don’t do my homework since I still believe it is stupid and a waste of my time and she did nothing to convince me otherwise.
Day 2 of the homework charade I have to stand in front of the class and she smacks my butt with her hand and commands me AGAIN to have all the missing homework by the next day.
Again I don’t do my homework since I still believe it is stupid and a waste of my time and she did nothing to convince me otherwise and smacking my butt just confirmed that she doesn’t have a real argument.
The 3rd day I again have to stand in front of the class and she spanks my butt again and tells me that unless I have all my homework by tomorrow, I will be demoted and no longer the president of the class.
I go home, I think about it. Being the class president is a great honor and being demoted a big slap in the ego’s face. But it is not much of a thought since I still think homework is stupid and a waste of my time.
I don’t do my homework AGAIN. Charade day number 4 I have to stand in front of the class and get my spank and get demoted.
I walk back to my desk! I feel great! I win and my soul smiles!
Find your inner warrior, it is there! It has always been there and it is just waiting to come out. Don’t let anybody tell you what to do and don’t follow authority blindly. Question the motives and if there isn’t love behind it, then refuse!
